Custom Church Crowns on natural Gas

All the warmth comes from above: brand new custom chandeliers with infrared heaters in the Christoforuskerk in Schagen and we are very proud of this beautiful result.

Each crown contains 4 pieces of gas radiators Alke PL24 K EID2G with high/low control and natural gas extraction. The crowns are also equipped with 4 LED spots, which also function as emergency lighting. The whole is controlled and switched by means of an Elko RF system.

The big advantage of this heating system:

in large uninsulated spaces with a reasonably high natural ventilation, it is always a problem to install a cost-effective heating system. Air heating requires very large powers and a very large air displacement to get the warm air into the room. In the case of air heating, the room must also be heated up well in advance, resulting in high costs and a poor indoor climate for organs and furniture due to moisture extraction.

Another way of heating is infrared heating, where the space to be heated is irradiated from above with ceramic radiators, which burn on natural gas. This method of heating is comparable to the heat from the sun, which means that only the directly irradiated surfaces are heated. Because these are “open” combustion appliances that discharge their flue gases directly into the room, an adapted system has been developed for churches. With this modified system, the flue gases are extracted directly from the appliances with a mechanical ventilation system and discharged outside. In this way the moisture in the flue gases has no chance to accumulate in the church.

This heating is eligible for EIA subsidy
